Metaphorically speaking, these few days before the US election conjures up the 1961 Brit flick, directed by Val Guest, The Day the Earth Caught Fire. in which the newspaper makes up two front pages: one saying ‘Earth Doomed’ the other saying ‘Earth Saved’ as the governments prepare the quick fix nuclear option.
